This region closely resembles Upper Castro Valley because of its custom designs and “clusters” of homes by smaller creators. Some of the lots and homes are smaller than the typically accepted. There are larger homes as well. Nonetheless, many of the homes have outstanding views of the bay area. The higher you climb up the hills, the more luxurious the properties become. Many of the homes in this area have intriguing design aspects such as iron wrought balconies and Palladian windows. In the midst of a rural habitat, many of these homes are transitioning into more of a modern appearance.
There are not many options for social life in this community and the dynamic is geared more towards smaller families and professionals. There are two main recreational areas within a mile of this region. Cull Canyon Park has a manmade beach and swimming area with a bunch of space for children. It’s perfect for a hot day or the massive family get-together. Deerview Park has a smaller play area for children next to a private swim club and grass hill. It’s a well maintained park with places to grill and picnic. At the very top of the hill is a basketball court overlooking a gorgeous view.
This region is comprised of 4 private schools, 2 public schools and 1 adult Special Ed school. The public schools have been recognized for its outstanding performance. Vannoy Elementary School is known for its high technological measures and advanced teaching environment. It has been rated 10 out of 10 by Great Schools. It’s very important to keep an eye on the market. Housing prices can ebb and flow due to economic, seasonal and local factors. For a true understanding of your property’s value or determining the “right” price to offer for a home, consult with a Realtor. Johanna provides free marketing appraisals in Northeast Castro Valley.
